FUTURES TOURNAMENT RULES
~~~TEAMS: Team must consist of 1 adult & 1 youth only & Team Members Names must be
declared at their 1st event fished. Youth must be 16 years old or younger at the time of the 2011
Championship on June 18. Adult must be a parent or guardian. Any youth fishing with an adult
other than the parent or guardian, must have written permission from the parent or guardian to
do so. The adult must be 21 years of age or older and must possess a NASBLA approved
Boating Education Course certificate if required by the NC Wildlife Commission due to their age.
All events are open events except the Championship.
~~~FISHING HOURS: Start just after regular trail blasts off at safe light. You must be back inside
the 'No Wake' bouy, at the ramp, by 12 noon or be disqualified.
~~~CREEL LIMIT: 2 any size with the other 3 being over 14". Adult can contribute 2 bass to the
creel. The youth must contribute the other 3. Total will be 5 fish with lengths measured mouth
closed-tail closed on the Golden Rule. 1 dead fish is allowed with a .50 lb. penalty on that
particular fish. Your 'Big Fish' entry may be weighed in dead but the penalty will be imposed on
that fish for the actual net weight. Any 'ILLEGAL' fish brought to the scales will be deleted from
the creel and cannot be replaced. NO MORE THAN 5 FISH may be in the teams possession
once inside the 'No Wake' bouy at tournaments end.
~~~LAUNCH SEQUENCE: Teams blast off in the order entries are received.
~~~GENERAL RULES: Artificial lures only. Pork chunks as trailers are allowed. No trolling. Only 1
rod in use by each angler at any time. Fish must be caught in a normal manner (no snagging).
Team partner may help land the fish. Life vest must be worn while the gas motor is running at
other than idle speed. Youth under the age of 13 must wear a life vest at all times in the boat. No
fishing or passing within 75 yards of another entrants 'ANCHORED BOAT' without his
permission. Anglers may not leave the boat to land a fish or get to a fishing spot. Areas marked
'off limits' may not be fished. Spectators are not allowed in your boat unless approved by the
Tournament Director. Ties will be determined by a coin toss or mutual split. Any protest must be
submitted in writing within 10 minutes of final weighin. Events will be held regardless of
weather conditions. No Refunds. We ask that all entrants use common courtesy, sportsmanlike
conduct & abide by all state & local lake rules. Use common sense as far as your own safety
goes.
~~~POLYGRAPH: The test may be given at any time. Everyone is subject to the test. Any entrant
who has failed to pass a polygraph before or whose condition does not permit the
administration of the test due to his or hers use of alcohol or drugs (prescription or otherwise)
may not fish events unless they notify Phil McCarson (tournament director) no later than 96
hours before any event date, so an observer may be assigned to monitor that contestant(s).
This cost of $100 will be paid by the entrant(s) prior to the event. Anyone refusing to take the
polygraph will be disqualified and may not fish another of our events. If there is a protest
submitted, and the polygrapher is not present, all monies will be withheld until the protest is
dropped or a polygraph is given.
~~~LIVEWELL CHECKS: May be given at any time.
~~~CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING: There will be 5 qualifying events. The declared team must
fish together in 3 events to to qualify for the Championship. The declared team can substitute 2
times if they wish, with my prior approval. The sub can be either the adult or the youth. The sub
must meet the Team requirements above. Call me at least a day before the event you plan to
use a sub for approval.
~~~ENTRY FEES & PAYOUTS: Entry fee for each event, including the Championship, will be $50
a team, $5 of which goes to the Big Fish Winner, $10 of which goes to Tournament expenses
and the other $35 goes to the total weight winners. 1 place will be paid out for every 3 team
entries. (Exam. 15 team purse $525, 5 places 1st $210, 2nd $120,3rd $84, 4th $63, 5th $48 & 1
big fish winner $75)
